The Lost Monster Hunter Returns
AI | Producer | 2026
Overview
The Lost Monster Hunter Returns is a male-oriented action, fantasy, and adventure series about a royal son who is swapped with a peasant’s son and eventually finds his way home. For this project, I researched male-oriented series closely, studying their visual language, editing pace, and how they kept the audience hooked. I developed a research workflow around collecting key frames and breaking down how individual shots build momentum within a sequence. Working on an AI vertical also gave us considerable creative freedom in asset design, editing, and music selection. Much of my producing work involved helping the outside vendor turn those possibilities into a clear and engaging viewing experience.

Challenges & Approach
Finding the right tone was our biggest challenge. The early cuts had dramatic weight, but they felt too slow, emotionally heavy, and drawn out for a vertical series. The music also often felt disconnected from the scenes rather than helping carry them forward. I gave the vendor detailed feedback through Frame.io, sometimes leaving around 60 notes on a three-minute cut, and used Asana to track the work. To make the direction clearer, I walked the team through our reference shows one by one, discussing how the editing, shot choices, and music worked together. We went through more than ten versions of the first episode alone. Alongside those creative revisions, we worked through AI limitations around shot consistency, refining individual shots to make the sequences feel more cohesive.
The Result
By the final cut, we had worked through the pacing, music, and shot consistency issues and delivered the series within budget. It became the top-trending show on DramaBox when it was first released, which was encouraging after so many rounds of refinement. The project taught me how much creative freedom AI verticals offer, but also how much attention they still need at the level of each shot and edit. I came away with a more structured way to research references, communicate creative feedback, and work with a vendor toward a shared direction.
