Overview

The Golden Falcon’s Revenge follows Joseph, a seemingly ordinary gambler and drunkard who conceals extraordinary power. When his desert kingdom is threatened, he steps forward to fight, gradually revealing his identity while seeking justice for his murdered sister. What fascinated me most about this project was its world-building: a desert kingdom populated by fantastical creatures, powerful weapons, and characters with hidden identities. As a male-oriented AI series, the show depended on making its protagonist feel compelling and powerful. My producing work focused on developing that characterization alongside the visual assets, working closely with the writers and executive producers to shape a world that felt distinctive.

Challenges & Approach

The biggest challenge was making the central character feel authentic while delivering the spectacle the story called for. I focused on how his interactions with other characters could guide the audience’s understanding of him, giving specific notes on coverage, screen direction, and eyelines to make those relationships clear. We also used effects-driven shots to heighten dramatic moments and give the action a video-game-like momentum. Alongside that work, we kept revising the asset designs with the writers and executive producers. We replaced the original sand worms with sand sharks to avoid repeating familiar creature designs, and paid particular attention to making the weapons visually interesting and powerful enough to hook the audience. These choices helped connect the world’s design to the protagonist’s presence within it.

The Result

We successfully delivered the series, and I’m pleased with the quality of the finished show. Looking back, what stands out to me is how closely characterization and world-building were connected throughout the process. The creatures and weapons were important visual hooks, while the protagonist’s interactions with others needed to make his power and personality convincing. My work moved between those different scales: reviewing the overall asset designs with the writers and executive producers, then giving detailed notes on individual shots. Together, those decisions shaped both the world around the character and how the audience experienced him.
